Comments
Marcum Engineering, LLC. is providing the complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services for this new state-of-the-art technology center which will be located on the campus of West Kentucky Community and Technical College.  The new facility will be a 65,000 square foot, two level complex which will be tied to the main campus and the existing Allied Health Building via an IT backbone.

The technology center will house programs related to emerging technologies including: industrial and manufacturing technologies, engineering technology, as well as business and industry training and information technology programs.  The long term goal of this project is to enhance and provide the area with the economic development tools by providing a facility with flexible and adaptable curriculums, programs for job training, and education for the local workforce using advanced technology.

This facility will be a “wireless” building, and all classrooms will be “smart” classrooms with audio-visual enhancements.  Special considerations for these elements will be incorporated into the design.  Special attention will also be given to the heavy electrical load that will be used for the various technologies.
