Comments

This project involved the design of a bridge replacement over the CSX Railroad in Davidson County, Tennessee.  The project is located in the heart of downtown Nashville adjacent to a minor league baseball field.

Property owners were located within close proximity to the roadway in all four quadrants of the bridge.  The bridge itself spans four sets of railroad tracks at differing elevations which split into three more spurs on the east side of the bridge in an adjacent rail yard.

A four-way intersection exists immediately off of the south end of the bridge.  Stopping sight distance and clearance of the railroad tracks were the main factors in the design of the vertical alignment.  Retaining walls were used to preserve historical rock walls from historic Fort Negley.
