Geotech Engineering & Testing, Inc. has recently been awarded a new project through the Illinois Department of Transportation. This new project includes the preparation of a combined design report, environmental assessment and final contract plans for the improvement of IL. 71 from IL. 47 to Orchard Road west of Oswego in Kendall County, Illinois. Work for this project will include the replacement or widening of one structure and three box culverts. In addition, CSS (Context Sensitive Solutions) will be provided as part of this project. The anticipated work is pavement reconstruction or rehabilitation of the roadway to provide two travel lanes in each direction throughout the entire length of the project with appropriate turn lanes and a 22 foot median. Phase I work will include surveys, crash analysis, intersection design studies, traffic analysis, preparation of the combined design report, environmental assessment, bridge condition reports, type size and location drawings, air and noise analysis, drainage studies, pavement analysis, cost estimates, and public involvement The estimated construction cost will be $38,200,000. Phase II work will include the preparation of structure plans and preliminary and final contract plans.
